梅維恆（英語：Victor Henry Mair，1943年3月25日－），出生於俄亥俄州東坎頓(East Canton)。美國漢學家、敦煌學家和語言學家。
生平
- 高中畢業後， 被達特茅斯學院(Dartmouth College )錄取，是達特茅斯大格林男子籃球隊(Dartmouth Big Green men's basketball team)的一員。在1965年獲得學士學位。
- 之後加入了和平隊(Peace Corps)並在尼泊爾服役了兩年。
- 1967 年離開和平隊後，返回美國並就讀於華盛頓大學的佛教研究項目，開始學習佛教、梵文和古典藏文。
- 1968年，獲得了Marshall獎學金並轉學至倫敦大學亞非研究學院進修漢語和梵語。
- 1969年，與張立青（拼音：Zhāng Lìqīng；1936-2010）結婚，張立青為華裔台灣學者，曾在華盛頓大學、東海大學、布林莫爾學院、哈佛大學、賓夕法尼亞大學和斯沃斯莫爾學院教授中文。育有一子,名為 Thomas Krishna Mair。
- 1972年獲得倫敦大學榮譽學士學位，1974年獲得研究碩士。
- 1976年，獲哈佛大學博士學位，博士論文為《敦煌通俗敘事》，則為從敦煌手稿中研究民間文學與翻譯。
- 1976年，於哈佛大學擔任助理教授。
- 1979年至今任賓夕法尼亞大學亞洲及中東研究系教授、考古及人類學博物館顧問。
- 專攻早期白話文，並負責《道德經》(Dao De Jing ),《馬王堆絹本版》(the Mawangdui Silk Texts version)的翻譯工作，及《莊子》( Zhuangzi )和《孫子兵法》( The Art of War)，還參與了中亞東部考古學的跨學科研究。

拼音宣傳(Pinyin advocacy)
