埃德加·李·馬斯特斯（Edgar Lee Masters，1868年8月23日，堪薩斯州加內特 - 1950年3月5日，賓夕法尼亞州梅爾羅斯帕克）是美國詩人、傳記作家、劇作家。著有《匙河集》、《新星商會和其他散文》、《歌曲和諷刺》、《大峽谷》、《曠野之蛇，不起眼的故事》、《脾》、《馬克·吐溫畫像》、《林肯傳》、《伊利諾伊詩篇》等書。馬斯特斯出版了12個劇本、21本詩集、6部小說和6本傳記，包括韋切爾·林賽、馬克·吐溫、亞伯拉罕·林肯和惠特曼的傳記。
生平
馬斯特斯1868年8月23日出生於堪薩斯州加內特，是艾瑪·J·德克斯特和哈丁·華萊士·馬斯特斯的孩子，他的父親曾短暫依據別處以從事法律工作。他們一家很快就搬回他祖父母的農場，在伊利諾伊州梅納德縣聖彼得堡附近。在1880年，他們搬到了伊利諾斯州劉易斯敦，在那裡他就讀學校，並在芝加哥每日新聞出版了他的第一部作品。劉易斯敦的文化氛圍是他很多作品的靈感來源。
馬斯特斯1889–1890年進入了諾克斯學院，但由於家庭經濟困難被迫離開。[1]
在他父親的律師事務所工作一段時間後，他獲得伊利諾伊州的律師執業資格，搬到了芝加哥，他於1893年在那裡與Kickham Scanlan律師事務所建立了法律合伙人關係。他結過兩次婚。1898年，他與海倫·詹金斯在芝加哥一個律師的女兒結婚，並育有三個孩子。在他1903年至1908年與克拉倫斯·達羅的法律合伙人關係中，他捍衛窮人的利益。1911年，他開了自己的律師事務所，儘管有三年的動盪（1908-1911），因婚外情和與達羅的爭吵。
