個人經歷
曾在紐約大學攻讀戲劇，畢業後日間出演電視肥皂劇，晚間加盟莎翁舞台劇表演。80年代初開始活躍在電視熒屏上，參加了《醫生》(The Doctors)和《Knots Landing》等電視系列劇的拍攝。此後，亞歷克-鮑德溫正式步入影壇，先後在《永遠的璐璐》(Forever,Lulu)、《甲殼蟲汁》(Beetle Juice)、《烏龍密探擺黑幫》(Married to the Mob)和《抓狂電台》(Talk Radio)等多部影片中出演一些比較嚴肅的角色。1990年，亞歷克-鮑德溫第一次出現在由美國暢銷間諜小說作家湯姆-克蘭西小說原作改編的票房大片《追擊赤色十月》(Hunt for Red October)中，和第一任007肖恩-康納利一起拍片，獲得極大成功，憑着他扮演的中央情報局幹員傑克-賴恩一角聲名遠播。同年，亞歷克當選美國《人物》雜誌全球最美的50位人物之一。後來派拉蒙電影公司再次找到他，希望他能在《愛國者遊戲》(Patriot Games)中再度演出傑克這個角色時，不幸的是，亞歷克-鮑德溫卻謝絕了公司的請求，傑克這個角色後來被哈里遜-福特接走， 縮略圖 成為當年一部超級賣座的電影。之後，他又在《邁阿密特別行動》(Miami Blues)中扮演一名被警官不斷追擊的小偷，1991年出演喜劇片《抱得美人歸》(The Marrying Man)，1992年在《拜金一族》(Glengarry Glen Ross)中扮演一名性格倔強的房地產公司總管。雖然這個喜歡向部下發號施令的角色在影片中只出現了10分鐘，卻給觀眾留下了難以磨滅的印象。

《欲望號街車》是華納兄弟影片公司發行的劇情片，由伊利亞·卡贊執導，費雯·麗、馬龍·白蘭度主演。於1951年9月18日在美國上映。
該片根據田納西·威廉斯同名話劇改編，講述了徐娘半老風味猶存的南部美女布蘭奇因不適當的行為被解除家庭教師職務後，來到新奧爾良投靠妹妹的故事。
《欲望號街車》劇情簡介
一個美國南方美女布蘭奇(費雯·麗飾)嬌生慣養，秉性脆弱，有點神經質，在舒適優越的環境裡度過了無憂無慮的青少年時代。後來由於婚姻的不幸、家庭的破產和親人的死亡，突然墜落到生活的底層。她意識到自己青春已逝，周圍的男人也不理想，但為了尋找賴以生存的精神支柱，她仍然以"柔情的色飾"為武器，以引人注目。然而，她總是擺脫不了自己身上那種不願與世俗同流合污的清高品格，這就導致了她必然毀滅的悲劇命運 。
