普林斯顿大学（英语：Princeton University），又译普林斯敦大学，常被直接称为普林斯顿，是一所位于美国新泽西州普林斯顿的私立研究型大学，为美洲大学协会的14个创会成员之一，著名体育赛事联盟常春藤盟校的成员。
普林斯顿历史悠久。它成立于1746年，是九所在美国革命前成立的殖民地学院之一，同时也是美国第四古老的高等教育机构。[1][lower-alpha 1]其在1747年移至纽瓦克，最终在1756年搬到了现在的普林斯顿，并于1896年正式改名为“普林斯顿大学”。虽然其旧校名是“新泽西学院”，但它与今天位于邻近的尤因镇（Ewing Township）的“新泽西学院”没有任何关联。此外虽然它最初是长老制的教育机构，但学校从没有跟任何宗教机构有直接的联系，[5]而现在对学生亦无任何宗教上的要求。[6]但并非没有教育目标，至今仍可从校训了解初始信仰的教育目标为：“Deī sub nūmine viget（拉丁文）”Under God's power she flourishes(“因为上帝的力量，学校欣欣向荣”)，以及后来增添的非正式校训，铜牌上铭刻著In the Nation's Service，In the Service of All Nations（“为国家服务，为所有国家服务”）。为符合圣经尊重全人类自由意志但需提供平等的知识受教权发展(学术自由)原则。
