第二个作品让王燕拿到了“金话筒”。王燕当年刚进湖南台做节目时，因为长了一张娃娃脸，坐到主播台上，制片人就直言她的形象并不适合做主播，当时就警告她，千万不能笑，因为她稍微一笑，新闻的严肃感就荡然无存。后来她连做的两个节目都以“下课”告终，还被台里的同事开玩笑做一个下掉一个。
