他畢業於[[倫敦]]UCL斯拉夫东欧研究院，畢業後在4號頻道當研究員，並在1987年第一次主持節目"The Last Resort with Jonathan Ross" ，1999年被BBC選為取代[[貝瑞·諾曼]]主持的節目，之後有了自己的個人秀「強納森·羅斯的週五夜」（Friday Night with Jonathan Ross）<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0743552/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm|title=Jonathan Ross Biography|publisher= IMDb.com, Inc}}</ref>，之後他離開BBC，轉至ITV，強納森·羅斯秀於2011年9月3日在ITV首播<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/a438848/the-jonathan-ross-show-given-fourth-series-by-itv.html|title='The Jonathan Ross Show' given fourth series by ITV|author=Taylor, Frances|publisher=[[Digital Spy]]|date=16 November 2012|accessdate=17 November 2012}}</ref>。除了英國之外，強納森·羅斯秀還有在澳大利亞、紐西蘭、瑞典、愛爾蘭、[[美國]]播出。
