He is currently based in Liverpool, England, where he completed his third and final year as an acting student at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), the arts university founded by Paul McCartney.[1]
Poetry Out Loud Achievement
In 2022, Blaikie was named the Michigan Poetry Out Loud State Champion by Michigan Humanities and the Michigan Arts and Culture Council. As state champion, he received a cash prize of $200, and his school received $500 for poetry materials.
For the competition, Blaikie performed three poems:
"Tomorrow" by Dennis O'Driscoll
"Windy City" by Stuart Dybek
"A Thousand Martyrs" by Aphra Behn
Following his state win, he advanced to the Poetry Out Loud National Finals, which were held virtually on May 1, 2022.
Reflecting on the experience, Blaikie noted: "I enjoyed how the poetry created a connection between performer and audience, and the challenge of using heightened language". His instructor, Andrew McGinn, described the opportunity as allowing students to engage with the work from their heart, as themselves, rather than playing a character.

Blaikie continues to be involved with poetry and spoken word, citing contemporary poets such as Saul Williams and Kae Tempest as inspirations. His professional actor profile is listed with Spotlight, a casting platform for performers in the UK.
