曾任中國藥科大學科技處副處長、江蘇省中醫藥研究院院長、南京中醫藥大學副校長[2]。現任中藥資源產業化與方劑創新藥物國家地方聯合工程中心/江蘇省中藥資源產業化過程協同創新中心主任、國家中醫藥管理局中藥資源循環利用重點研究室主任。

擔任中國自然資源學會常務理事、中國自然資源學會中藥及天然藥物資源專業委員會主任委員、中國中藥協會中藥資源循環利用專業委員會主任委員、中國藥材GAP研究促進會(香港)副會長以及International Society of Biology and Chemistry創辦委員。

兼任英國女王大學、中國藥科大學等國內外10餘所院校的特聘/客座教授。獲國務院政府特殊津貼[3] 、全國優秀科技工作者、中國自然資源學會優秀科技獎等學術榮譽。

主要貢獻

長期致力於中藥資源化學與資源循環利用、中藥配伍關係及其規律性的科技創新及學科建設工作。作為我國中藥資源領域領軍人物之一、國家中藥資源產業化及科技支撐計劃等重大項目首席專家,先後承擔了20餘項國家和區域性重大基礎研究、科技支撐和行業專項等科研項目。 創立了新興交叉學科-中藥資源化學,創建了中藥資源化學研究方法技術體系。針對藥材生產過程粗放、生產效率和效益低下,以及中藥農業、中藥工業生產過程大多尚處於高消耗、低產出、高排放的線性經濟模式和傳統生產方式等制約行業發展的重大問題,圍繞藥材生產過程產生的不同類型非藥用部位、中藥製藥/配方顆粒及提取物等深加工產業化過程產生的固液廢棄物及副產物進行資源價值創新與資源循環利用實踐。率先提出了中藥資源產業化全過程循環利用策略,創建了資源價值發現與轉化增效多元模式,構建了切合中藥資源產業經濟特點和客觀條件的工程技術群,推動了我國中藥資源循環經濟與產業綠色發展。

以第一/通訊作者發表學術論文521篇,SCI收錄213篇,總影響因子561.7,最高影響因子45.6,總被引頻次5085次,H指數32。 2014、2015年連續兩年入選Elsevier中國高被引學者榜單。 主編學術專著8部;作為總主編,主持編寫出版了"中藥資源與開發"專業本科系列規劃教材,填補了該類教材空白。 申請國家專利154項,已獲授權87項,其中27項已轉化應用。研製中藥新藥、新藥材及功能性產品18個。
