桑特海峽戰役（Battle of the Saintes）是美國獨立戰爭中英國海軍在西印度群島的重要勝利，從而結束了該地區的法國威脅。
簡介
桑特海峽戰役是發生於1782年4月8日由法國格拉斯伯爵號率領35艘戰艦與150艘商船從馬提尼克島至牙買加行駛的過程中，遭到英國海軍的襲擊，法軍潰敗後，在1783年9月3日兩國簽署巴黎條約，英國自此恢復在西印度群島失去過的島嶼。
戰役經過
桑特海峽戰役發生在1782年4月9日至12日，是英、法國在加勒比海地區的一場殖民利益爭奪戰。當時法國以馬丁尼克為基地，英國則占據聖露西亞，桑特（Saintes）是加勒比海三個小島的名稱，位為多明尼加和瓜德羅普之間。戰役法國戰敗，法國那艘以特洛伊王子帕裡斯（Paris）命名的巨艦也淪為英國戰利品。
此戰英國艦隊和法國艦隊各以戰列線對陣時，風向突然改變，英艦隊司令喬治·羅德尼（George Rodney）立刻率領六艘戰艦突破法艦隊的一字長蛇陣，其他英艦也就近突破敵陣，將法國艦隊分割成幾段。 結果五艘法艦投降。
