努查努阿特语，旧称努特卡语^[1]^[2]，是太平洋西北地区美洲原住民努查努阿特人使用的语言^[3] ^[4] 。

简介

努查努阿特语是最早获得文献记录的太平洋西北地区原住民语言。许多欧洲探险家在和努查努阿特人的毛皮贸易过程中对于努查努阿特语言做过简要记录。

在1803年至1805年，英国人约翰·杰威特所乘商船被努查努阿特人袭击，他被掳走沦为奴隶，为奴三年。重获自由后，杰威特在自己的回忆录中提供了一份简单的努查努阿特语词汇表。

努查努阿特语有35种辅音。

咽音源于小舌音的合并。/ħ/是/χ/和/χʷ/合并而来；/ʕ/是/qʼ/和/qʷʼ/由合并而来。这些组件在努查努阿特语中已是十分罕见，甚至消失。

中元音 [ɛː] 和 [ɔː] 出现在呼格和仪式用语中。[ə] 是元音 /a/ 在声门音化响音后的一个可能变体。

在声门音化响音、挤喉音化辅音和咽音影响下，元音可能发生类似于嘎裂声的喉音化。

音节的权重决定重音之所在，短元音后接的非声门音化辅音和长元音发生重读。若词汇没有重音节或只有重音节，则重读第一个音节。

除了对立的长短音，传统上有一组长短不定的元音，在词汇的头两个音节是长音；在其他位置是短音。

努查努阿特语的书写体系建基于拉丁字母。
