1971年出生在上海，7岁随父母迁去香港。中學時代就讀[[東華三院張明添中學]]，高中毕业后打工，1993年王衛以10萬元創辦 『 順豐 』 ，其後以20年時間把 『 順豐 』 打造成中國最大物流企業，在2017年2月[[順豐控股]]在深交所[[借殼上市]]，市值高達3000億元<ref>{{cite web | url =http://finance.sina.com.cn/roll/20170224/doc-ifyavwcv8705916.shtml | title = 顺丰控股登“鼎”上市 王卫：迎来新起点| publisher =中国证券网}}</ref>。
