==教宗预言==
教宗预言（拉丁語：Prophetia Sancti Malachiae Archiepiscopi, de Summis Pontificibus）或称圣馬拉奇预言，出自据說有预知能力的12世纪爱尔兰的阿馬總教區总主教圣馬拉奇（英语：Saint Malachy）。他25岁时成了一名神父，30岁上成了主教，创设了爱尔兰第一所基督会修道院，据传他在1139年到罗马访问期间，经历了关于未来的异象，看到最后的审判之前112位教宗的影像，他随后列出了一长串的人物清单。他把这些幻觉写在5页羊皮纸上，把手稿交给当时的教宗依诺增爵二世。教宗读了上面的内容，然后密封在档案馆裏，直到1590年，馬哈德哈克死后被尊称为圣馬拉奇。1595年一位叫Arnold de Wyon的传教士在他其著作《Lignum Vitæ》内首次记录了这个预言。名单裏圣马拉奇以拉丁文留下了这几位教宗的相关线索，这就是圣马拉奇预言或教宗预言的由来，预言裏没有留下这些教宗的名字，而是留下足供辨认的人物特徵，或是有关国家、臂章、勳章等线索的暗喻。

預言的第12位教宗為教宗额我略八世，1187年在位，他的预言是「Ensis Laurentii」（圣罗兰之剑），这位教宗的樞機物徽上有两把相重叠的宝剑，1187年，圣城耶路撒冷被伊斯兰勢力攻陷，这位教宗发出教令，呼吁整个基督教界重新拿起剑来，继续圣战。
