<p ul style="textline-indentheight: 30px; linemargin-left:20px; list-style-position:outside;"><li><b style="margin-right:10px; margin-heightleft:30px5px;">2000年5月20日 </b> ，[[陳水扁]]宣誓就職成為中華民國總統之後，便獲聘擔任總統府國策顧問。</pli><p li><b style="textmargin-indentright: 30px10px; linemargin-heightleft:30px5px;">2001年6月14日 </b> ，[[陳水扁政府]]的[[行政院]]組織了[[客家委員會]]，並延攬時任總統府國策顧問的[[范光群]]作為該委員會的主任委員。</pli><p li><b style="textmargin-indentright: 30px10px; linemargin-heightleft:30px5px;">2002年2月1日 </b>，[[花蓮縣長]][[張福興]]於任內病卒，[[內政部]]於是指定范光群先暫時[[代理]]花蓮縣縣長的職權。</li><li><b style="margin-right:10px; margin-left:5px;">2003年</b> ，卸下客委會主委的職務，重回總統府擔任顧問一職。並獲陳水扁總統任命，擔任中華民國臺灣省政府主席（此時的臺灣省政府已虛級化）。</pli><p li><b style="textmargin-indentright: 30px10px; linemargin-heightleft:30px5px;">2003 2004 年 ，[[花蓮縣長]][[張福興]]於任內病卒，[[內政部]]於是指定范光群先暫時[[代理]]花蓮縣縣長的職權。</p><p style="text-indent: 30px; line-height:30px"b>2004年 ，卸下[[台灣省主席]]的職務。</pli></ul>
