多年生草本。根粗壮，圆柱形，稍木质化。花茎直立或上升，高20-70厘米，被稀疏短柔毛及白色绢状长柔毛。基生叶为羽状复叶，有小叶5-15对，叶柄被短柔毛及绢状长柔毛；小叶片对生或互生，边缘羽状中裂，裂片三角卵形，三角状披针形或长圆披针形，基生叶托叶近膜质，褐色。伞房状聚伞花序，[[花梗]]长0.5-1.5厘米，基部有披针形苞片，外面密被短柔毛；花直径通常0.8-1厘米，稀达1.3厘米；萼片三角卵形，副萼片带形或披针形，比萼片短约1倍且狭窄；[[花瓣]]黄色，宽倒卵形，顶端微凹，比萼片稍长；花柱近顶生，柱头扩大。[[瘦果]]卵球形，深褐色，有明显皱纹。[[花果]]期4-10月。
