1999年这一年，他获得了巴西、阿根廷、西班牙、加拿大、英国五站比赛的第四名，和法国站的第五名，不过也许他最抢眼的表现在摩纳哥站，他与舒马赫展开了攻防战，伍尔兹试图阻止舒马赫超越，结果两车在隧道出口处相撞，伍尔兹因赛车悬挂损坏而退出。1999年对于伍尔兹和贝纳通车队来说都是困难的一年，这年中，他只在奥地利站获第五、摩纳哥站第六。 2000年简森·巴顿的到来让伍尔兹的地位岌岌可危，于是赛季后期他就签约迈凯轮车队成为试车手，2006赛季转会到威廉姆斯车队作为试车手。
