《Taxman》一歌由George Harrison创作，是The Bealtes1966年专辑《Revolver》的开头曲目。歌词攻击了英国工党Harold Wilson政府施行的高额累进税政策。

创作及录制

Harrison说：“《Taxman》是我发现就算我们挣了钱，实际上大部分都得拿去缴税，过去是，现在也是。” The Bealtes的高额收入使他们得承受英国最高额的税收，英国工党Harold Wilson政府最高征收95%的附加税（所以歌词里有“There's one for you, nineteen for me”）。在1984年接受《Playboy》杂志采访时，Paul McCartney解释说：“George写歌，我负责弹吉他。他写歌表达了对税务员所作所为的愤怒。那之后他才知道税务员对你的钱做了什么。”

John Lennon在1980年接受《Playboy》采访时说：“我记得那天Harrison打电话给我，让我在《Taxman》这首歌上帮帮忙，这是他最开始的几首作品之一。我给这首歌写了一些单行的词，因为这就是他想要的。他来找我是因为那时他没法去找Paul，因为Paul那时候不会帮他。（其实）我也不想做……我只是动了动舌头就说OK了。一直以来都是John和Paul的组合，而他都被我们忽略了，因为在那之前他还不是个创作歌手”。

合唱中的“Mr Wilson”和“Mr Heath”是Lennon的想法，说的是Harold Wilson和Edward Heath，工党和保守党领袖。Wilson是将The Beatles四个人提名为MBE的英国首相，唱出的这两个名字替代原来的“nybody got a bit of money?”1996年的Anthology 2发行了这个早期版本，是歌曲的take 11。

录制开始于1966年4月20日，但未采用暗示的录制版本，知道4月21日又录制了10个新的take，其中有4个版本加入了鼓和贝斯，Harrison扭曲效果的节奏吉他，以及他的主唱和Lennon及McCartney的伴唱。录制于6月21日结束。
