亞博斯福是不列颠哥伦比亚最大的自治市。<ref>List of the 100 largest cities and towns in Canada by surface area</ref> 菲莎河谷大學（University of the Fraser Valley）、菲沙河谷貿易展覽中心Fraser Valley Trade and Exhibition Centre}（Fraser Valley Trade and Exhibition Centre，TRADEX）及[[亞博斯福國際機場]]皆位於此地，後者也是{{le| 亞博斯福國際航空 展|Abbotsford 展Abbotsford International Airshow}} 的場地（Abbotsford International Airshow）。
亞博斯福南邊是美加邊界，與[[華盛頓州]][[霍特科姆縣 (華盛頓州)|霍特科姆縣]]相鄰；西為[[蘭里區|蘭里]]（Langley）、北為[[菲莎河]]與[[米遜 (卑詩省)|米遜]]東邊則是[[智利域]] （Chilliwack）。大部分亞博斯福地區可見到[[貝克山]]（東南方）與[[海岸山脈 (北美)|海岸山脈]]（北方）。
