影片聚焦19世纪著名的[[德雷福斯事件]]。[[让·杜雅尔丹]]饰演法国军官乔治·皮夸特。1895年，皮夸特被委任军方情报部门总长后，他发现了一批诬陷法军总参谋部少数犹太人之一[[阿尔弗雷德·德雷福斯]]向[[德意志帝国]]泄露军方机密的伪造证据。皮夸特赌上自己的职业生涯和性命，历经十年揭露真相，冒险从恐怖的[[魔鬼岛]]监狱中释放被冤枉的德雷福斯。
