==生长环境==
侧金盏花生于林下、灌丛或草地。常见于山坡或山脚的灌木丛间、阔叶林下以及林缘地上、山坡、腐殖质多的湿润土壤上。

==主要价值==
侧金盏花开放时间正是冬末春初冰雪尚未消融的极为寒冷时节，因此，它在此时北方有很好的观赏价值。可作花坛、花径、草地边缘或假山岩石园的配置材料，亦可盆栽观赏。

根和全草含福寿草甙、加大麻甙、福寿草毒甙等强心贰以及其他化合物，有毒，也可供药用，可治充血性心力衰竭、心脏性水肿、[[心房纤维性颤动]]等症。
