劳米·拉佩斯1979年i出生於[[瑞典]]的胡迪克斯瓦爾。她的母親Nina Norén ( Kristina Norén; 1954年生) 是一位瑞典女演員，父親Rogelio Durán來自西班牙巴達霍斯的弗拉明戈歌手。但她的父母在她年輕時離婚了。 5歲時，她與母親和繼父搬到了冰島南部區的Flúðir村居住。8歲時，拉佩斯參加了冰島電影試鏡。之後她在電影 In the Shadow of the Raven 出演了一小部分。<ref>{{cite web|title=劳米·拉佩斯|url=https://movie.douban.com/celebrity/1013796|accessdate=2019-03-09|website=豆瓣电影}}</ref>

15歲時，拉佩斯進入斯德哥爾摩劇院學院。2007年因主演丹麥電影《黛西之鑽》（Daisy Diamond）而在北歐影壇受到矚目，2009年主演《龍紋身的女孩》（The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo）備受全球媒體讚揚，更獲歐洲電影獎與素有英國奧斯卡之稱的英國電影電視藝術學院（BAFTA）最佳女主角提名，除了「千禧年三部曲」後兩部《直搗蜂窩的女孩》（The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, 2009）和《玩火的女孩》（The Girl Who Played with Fire, 2009），歐蜜瑞佩斯在演出《龍紋身的女孩》三部曲系列電影之後，成為瑞典最知名的女星之一。

2001年她與瑞典男演員歐拉·拉波瑟結婚，並生育了一個兒子列夫。 2010年9月兩人開始辦理離婚手續。
