<p style="text-indent:2em;">林欣颖走轻松搞笑的少女漫画路线，1994年开始发表作品，成名作是《[[3×8=24笑]]》，内容改编自中国的二十四孝，把原本严肃的孝亲故事，结合现代时事，变成诙谐幽默的搞笑内容，有时还把书中主角丑化。林欣颖认为，虽然刚出道时也是画少女漫画，但是后来为了配合市场需求，她也尝试和漫画编剧合作，创作出跟以往风格截然不同的作品。
<p style="text-indent:2em;">另一本漫画《[[初恋MALISA]]》推出后，出版社开始将她的照片放在漫画书里，而受到广大漫画迷的注目，也开始有人在网路上讨论起她的容貌和漫画作品间的关联。为此， 林欣颖婉拒不少广告、戏剧邀约，并减少媒体曝光，过着低调的创作生活。
