塞尔玛·布莱尔刚到纽约时她是想往摄影方向发展。但后来改变了主意，来到斯特拉·阿德勒演艺学校学习。当她还是个小姑娘时，曾经在希伯来学校学习，她的[[希伯来]]名字是Batsheva。孩子;Arthur Saint Blair Bleick 搭档;Jason Bleick

她曾经是《捉鬼者巴菲》中主角巴菲的人选。1998年与电视剧"Getting Personal"签约，但在第一季播出后就被解雇了。
